BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for developing RNG equity investment opportunities for Trillium and contracting structured offtake agreements with qualified biogas producers. Work with the business development team as subject matter expert in the placement of biogas with Trillium customers. Have a good understanding of the regulations (state/federal) impacting the production and placement of biogas and the associated environmental attribute (RIN/LCFS) markets.   

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop market intelligence to identify RNG equity investment opportunities
• Source offtake agreements with landfill, wastewater, food, dairy/swine & other RNG producers
• Develop proformas to justify investment, development, and offtake agreements
• Responsible for contracting (biogas producers and third-party demand) using NAESB base contract documents
• Maintain the supply and demand position for the portfolio and coordinate weekly management meetings
• Attend industry trade shows and networking events to support RNG business development opportunities
• Facilitate meetings between stakeholders (internal/external) to ensure proper communication and data flow
• Communicate and present investment decisions to various stakeholders within organization
• Work with business development team to place RNG within our customer base
• Prepare deal summaries outlining the risk/reward for each opportunity including financial models  
• Gain (or maintain) commercial acumen in the markets we serve becoming (or maintaining) subject matter expertise 
• Consult with DSA team about alternatives or modifications to proposed deal structures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education: College degree or equivalent required
• Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Engineering background preferred
• Experience: Prior RNG experience and industry contacts preferred. Building models for valuing investments required.

      SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Hard Skills: Strong capabilities in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint and other management systems building financial models.  Broad understanding of contracting RNG, natural gas, electricity markets, and trading strategies are required.
  • Soft Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivated, good time management skills, innovative thinking and ability to think outside the box, and excellent attention to detail.
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged siting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
