OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: New Shop Opening Specialists priority is to schedule and facilitate truck care set up and opening in a manner consistent with established layouts. New Shop Opening Specialists will also be a communication liaison between our construction department, the general contractor, and store management making sure all final construction tasks are completed. New Shop Opening Specialists will also assist in training of Truck Care/SpeedCo personnel.

JOB SUMMARY: The New Shop Opening Specialist will coordinate tasks and duties with the truck care management team to ensure all equipment, fixtures and merchandise is present and set up according to planograms and the facility opens on the targeted date. The New Shop Opening Specialist will also communicate with appropriate vendors or personnel to make sure any missing equipment or parts arrive on time. During final stages of set up, the New Shop Opening Specialist will be on site, managing and directing activities with team members to ensure target opening date is achieved.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a safe and clean facility and use safety first practices to remain accident-free
  • Provide exceptional customer service and verify that all employees of the location are doing the same
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to assist with opening tasks.
  • Delegate tasks and follow up with employees to ensure tasks are completed
  • Ensure all new team members are up to date and following micro-credential training. Ensure all new employee data is uploaded and without error.
  • Maintain personal grooming standards
  • Other tasks as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years’ tire, auto parts/repair, lube express or facilities maintenance preferred
    • 2+ years’ supervising and training 5 – 10 employees
    • 2+ years’ experience in merchandising preferred
  • Requirements:
    • Must have a valid driver's license
    • Must have clean and consistent record of safety
    • Must be able to travel for 1-2 weeks at a time

    • Hard Skills: Ability to plan and organize to make sure teams are staying on track with planned opening benchmarks and goals

  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Regularly required to talk and hear at a normal range
    • Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
    • Frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons. Occasionally, the employee will also be exposed to fumes and particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and can be loud at times. While performing the duties, the employee is frequently exposed to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, high-concentrated cleaning solutions, and human waste.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel is required for this position.
