BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for leading the SAP Procure-to-Pay (PTP)  team with the objective of optimizing systems, their integrations, and related processes throughout their lifecycles including activities for analysis, design, implementation, execution, monitoring, and innovation. This position will also be responsible for performing business analysis functions, including requirements elicitation, tracking, clarification and communication, specification writing, and validation of solutions.  As a lead, this position will be accountable for the team’s overall delivery, performance management, and communication with peers and managers.  Scope of work includes production support and project/enhancements for multiple lines of business and systems, including, but not limited to SAP MM (PTP), Vertex, VIM, and Ariba.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Resource management responsibilities for the SAP PTP team including capacity planning, work management, feedback, coaching, performance reviews.
  • Work with Business Systems Manager to prioritize work, allocate team resources, and raise any issues and risks
  • Manage work of contractors and permanent employees to achieve project, department, and company goals
  • Working knowledge of business areas supported (direct/indirect/global procurement, accounts payable, use tax, accounting, logistics, etc.) to help identify and deliver solutions
  • Work with project managers/scrum masters to ensure work item delivery, planning, and budget adherence
  • Work with IT resources across the enterprise to ensure coordination and prioritization of work to support business requests and system functionality/performance
  • Clearly communicate work status to other business systems leads, manager, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to and maintain best practice process management approach for Business and IT
  • Perform and coach others in eliciting, communicating, and managing requirements
  • Guide the team in analysis and documentation of as-is and to-be processes, data, and systems utilizing appropriate diagramming and documentation methodologies
  • Ensure that quality standards are met relevant to documentation and solution delivery – complete solution specifications and integration mapping documents and review and approve the work of the team
  • Design and communicate with other teams regarding integration points between internal and external systems relevant to Sites & Logistics (including but not limited to SAP-SD, SAP-FICO, SAP-WM, SAP-TM, SAP-PP, SAP technical teams)
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues and recommend resolutions
  • Perform feasibility studies/solution reviews, working with manager to determine resource and budgetary needs
  • Perform configuration of the SAP system
  • Represent functional area in Change Control meetings, reviewing and approving testing and readiness for release in conjunction with business solution owners
  • Contribute to the development of process standards and evaluation of tools as needed
  • Ensure project delivery and support once solutions are in production
  • Identify areas of improvement in systems or processes and implement solutions to address gaps or realize opportunities
  • Prepare weekly status reports
  • Determine and report on team and system performance measures
  • Other duties assigned as needed

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years working in SAP relevant to PTP functions
    • 8+ years management/supervisory experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

 

      SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Thorough understanding of the functional and technical aspects of SAP sufficient to lead others in their execution– SAP MM, Vertex, VIM, Ariba, APIs, transport management
    • Configuration of SAP MM solution
    • Knowledge of various integration protocols to consume and transmit data internally and with external companies
    • Conflict management
    • Critical and creative thinking and root cause analysis
    • Facilitation and communication skills, including ability to communicate according to audience in written or verbal form
    • Ability to be flexible in an ambiguous environment
    • Ability to work within resource and time constraints
    • Ability to manage 200+ emails per day
    • Ability to proficiently execute job responsibilities independently on numerous assignments of critical nature
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of productivity tools, including: MSOffice, Excel, and Azure DevOps
    • Diagramming techniques and tools (Visio or Lucid)
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
