BASIC PURPOSE:  Responsible for the planning, management and execution of the design and build process required to install alternative fueling stations (CNG, EV, Solar, RNG, Hydrogen) by collaborating with internal and external design teams, managing project schedules and budgets, ordering equipment, reviewing contract documents, coordinating with permitting agencies, and interfacing with the customer and contractors throughout projects’ life cycle.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to execute projects within scope, budget, and defined timeframes.
  • Review all project specific contracts to understand specific processes/procedures to meet and exceed customer defined expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external design and engineering teams to generate facility construction drawings and reviews to ensure it meets all customer/project specifications.
  • Research and complete AHJ applications and submit drawings to local permitting agencies prior to construction. 
  • Research and complete utility applications for new or upgrades required for projects (electric, gas, water, etc.).
  • Review equipment submittals with engineering team and procure all major equipment from external vendors.
  • Create Request for Proposals (RFP’s) for construction and review competitive bids for competency, value, and execution in order to recommend General Contractor selection.
  • Update, coordinate internal and external factors to manage the projects’ schedule on a timely basis.
  • Schedule and host all meetings with customer to keep open lines of communication with the project team and serve as the focal point of contact. Responsible for clear and concise documentation of all meeting minutes to exceed customer expectations.
  • Bi-Weekly review of project budgets, including all Account Receivables (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) on the project.  Ensure customers are billed regularly via Schedule of Values (SOV) and track vendor invoices payments. Must be fluent in diving into in-depth financial problem solving and managing cost creep.
  • Manage the submittal and Request for Information (RFI) process with support of the engineering and construction team.
  • Negotiate with utilities, contractors, and the customer to reach acceptable technical and economic solutions.
  • Oversee construction phase with periodic site visits, regular communication to the customer, and coordination with the design and engineering team to identify, solve and execute issues/problems to avoid project schedule and cost creep.
  • Provide financial project review and support with final project closeout documentation.
  • Full knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Project and Procore.  Must be able to type 40 wpm and compose professional emails, letters, and contracts.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, and SolidWorks, must be able to evaluate design drawings.
  • Work to create efficiencies between internal departments for continued process improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent and 4-year bachelor’s degree required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management, or relevant field with experience in Project Management

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years managing multimillion-dollar construction, utility, facilities, or oil and gas interdepartmental projects with a proven record of successful execution.
  • 3+ years in managing multi-faceted projects including technical and financial aspects.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with local project AHJ, environmental and safety regulations.
